CQB match 4 was hot and humid. 48 shooters turned out for a match run in very efficient time. That certainly seemed to work for the top shooter in the event. Holy high score batman. That is a new record. Well done tyc147. Looking forward myself to getting out to the next match to at least share in the fun.

Fantastic day today, great weather and a really fast and smooth match ! Thanks to Tim and everyone who helped to make this a great day! I keep toying with the 400 level but cannot seem to get over the top with my shooting this year. Looking at the stats and my shooting it seems that my pistol shooting is completely to blame.... Clearly I know what I should be practicing!

Thanks to all the great guys in lane 8 today! Made for a fun match!

Great day.

I shot my M14 Shorty. It worked well. Used irons with some bright red paint on front post. The red really helped.

Mag changes are the problem with the M14. Nothing rivals the Ar-15 platform for quick smooth mag changes.

One trick I learned (the hard way) worked today. More than once I have been shooting the modified prone and found that I had forgotten to "ready" the rifle (close bolt and chamber a round.) The trick is that before going prone, I lock the bolt open. This makes the mag easier to click in and real easy to drop the bolt on the "Ready" command.

I think I will try a SKS at the next CQB.

That was Hawwt! I was soaked by 09:30, brain damaged by 10:00. Thanks to all the fine shooters in Target 3! Mike T gave me some great tips on the MonkeyFighting Prone, AwesomeSauce!

Great match Mr. Fecker! Collecting the hardware! A little Google fu tells me you have "embraced the suck"!

I left the rookie class and got in with those cool Operator class folks. I also left the 1911 at home which never failed to glitch and cost me points and brought the CZ Shadow. I got 25 points on the right target 5 to the head so did something right. Also put the holster on the vest belt rather than use the drop leg holster. For the MonkeyFighting Prone I just sild it around my back before I got down and slid it back to my side when I got up. Much better. The drop leg tends to make me bent over all day which the back doesn't like. Problem was that 9mm holes and .308 holes look awful similar in size on a target. There is no such problem when using a 45 ACP.
I had a big problem getting a mag in during the MonkeyFighting Prone rapid which cost me 5 shots. The brain wavered in the heat which was an interesting momentary experience. I thought I had been drinking enough all along . Maybe not. Next time drink more.
I brought the daughter along to see CQB. She even got to patch targets. She could follow along with the organised confusion and wants to give it a go. She has her own CZ75 but needs an AR. This is going to cost me $$.
