Goodday gents,

Can anyone here enlighten me about the course of fire from the ORA CQB match from early/mid July?

I'm trying to set something up out here, and would like this info for reference, and maybe to steal the whole thing!

I was supposed to have been mailed a copy, but haven't gotten a thing yet. :-(

Further to my last on this,,

I've been putting some thought into these short range tactical shoots using the standard scoring boxes and rings on the standard fig12 and fig11 targets. What I am leaning towards now is to keep a bull area in the centre of mass,, but also to move a additional bull area up into the area between the eyes and mouth. Perhaps this upper bull area being worth 6 or 8 points. The upper bull would be shaped like a T with the bars being about 1.5 inches wide.

Any thoughts or comments on this?

Sounds like a good plan and a good shoot.Figure 11 is a pretty generous target for in close and dirty though.Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such a linear, static shoot(read movement only forewards and back. Not sideways.)I'd be tempted to use a T shaped bull to represent the spine and head on a fig 11.Or maybe a fig 12 or 12c.Just be beaking though

IIRC, all matches are fired at 2 Fig 11's, 5 shots at each target. Penalty points if more than 5-shots are on a target, unless crossfired by the guy next to you. This is from the match sheet handed out at the matches:

1) 100y snap: 2X5 rounds, each standing to prone, 5x 15sec exposures
100y rapid: 2X5 rounds, standing to prone, 1X 30sec exposure
2) 75y snap: 2X5 rounds, sitting, 5X 6sec exposures
75y rapid: 2X5 rounds, standing to sitting, 1X 30sec exposure
3) 50y snap: 2X5 rounds, kneeling or squating, 5X 6sec exposures
50y rapid: 2X5 rounds, standing to kneeling/squating, 1X 30sec exposure
4) 25y snap: 2X5 rounds, standing, 5X 6sec exposures
25y rapid: 2X5 rounds, standing, 1X 20sec exposure
5) 15y snap: 2X5 rounds, standing, 5X 6sec exposures
15y rapid: 2X5 rounds, standing, 1X 20sec exposure
6) 50-15y advance: 5X 4rounds, 2x2 shots kneeling at 50y, 15sec exposure
2x2 shots standing at 30y, 20sec exposure
2x2 shots standing at 25y, 10sec exposure
2X2 shots standing at 20y, 10sec exposure
2x2 shots standing at 15y, 10sec exposure

The last match is really challenging because of the mag changes and keeping track of how many shots you've got left. Also, the last match is limited to 4 mags (no you can't bring 5 mags with 4 rounds each  ). At each distance, basically double tapping each Fig11.

For further details, contact Hungry who was one of the masterminds behind these matches

I would be worried about poor shots giving high scores !! A shooter may be hitting the head area by accident, maybe it could be made that the shooter needs to pre-indicate that he/she is going for that area and that shot pattern is consistant with this choice or else they get the normal score for that target.

In combat only hits count .... even accidental ones ;)
