The ORA will be conducting an Introductory Day at Cedar Springs on Monday
May 22. (yes I know it is a long weekend).
The day starts at 0830 and ends around 4 in the afternoon.
Anyone interested in finding out about the ORA activities should contact me via PM or contact the ORA through the web page. ontariorifleassociation.org with the 3w's in front.

Bring a lunch, dress for any weather, bring hearing protection.
You may bring a rifle if you wish but don't need to. We will provide one for you. You do not need a firarms licence to attend unless you plan to bring your own rifle.
Shooting will take place at 300 yards.
Cost of the day is $30. You will get an ORA Handbook, breech flag for your rifle, and we supply the ammo and rifle.

The May 24th ORA Introductory Day at CFB Kingston is canceled do to lack of entries. Regular practice is still on for this day.
The Intro Day at Cedar Springs on May 22 is still a go. Watch this thread for more details.

Andy,
I think the practice is still on, just the Intro Day is cancelled.
It is still on the ORA event page? Can you confirm with Dave S?

where does one sign up?
I am planning on attending the intro day in July with my brother.

I'd like to go earlier but have no experience past 350yards and need to get my new t3 tactical to a proper range to work up some loads.

Bulldog,
At the Intro Days we start you off really close to the target, 300 yards.
You don't even need to bring a rifle we can supply one and provide the ammo to boot. All shooting is from the prone position off a bi-pod with a scope.

You can book an Intro Day through the ORA web page or PM me for details on the May22 Intro at Cedar Springs.

Hi Maynard,
Thanks for the information. I have mine own rifles and plan to get a little more into it next year, I have a 11 month old thats taking up a lot of my time right now.

Consider me booked for the Kingston day. That'll give me time to work up a load for my 308 and to load some more 260 rounds up.

How many rounds should I expect to go through in the day?

Cheers,
Craig

For and Intro Day it all depends on how many show up and how fast the relay and butt marker change around. Also depends on how fast and hard you want to work the butt marker.
On a regular practice day I can usually get 50-60 round down range with a fast marker and quick shooting partner(s).

Thanks Maynard.
I downloaded the form and modified it to PDF Fillable. I'll send it off in the next day or 2. If the day doesn't go ahead, how do I get my check back?

If the day does not go off or something unexpected comes up at the last minute and you can't make, chances are the money is already in the bank.
It will apply to the next Intro Day in your area or until you do show up somewhere for an Intro Day. You can even use your return day the following year.
If you send the cheque and never show up, thanks for the donation:D
