May 11, we will host our one and only ORA Introductory Day for the year at Cedar Springs. The cost for the day is $40 and includes the use of ORA rifles and ammo. For more details see the ORA web page at www.ontariorifleassociation.org

It is recommended that you pre-book, however we might be able to accommodate a walk-on or two if we know a few days in advance.

Things you should bring: hearing protection, warm clothes, rain gear, lawn chair, lunch and plenty of non alcoholic beverages. You do not need a firearms license to participate. You may bring your own centerfire rifle if you wish, shooting will be 300m. Please note, your club ATT is not valid for DND ranges, so please leave your AR15's at home.

If you have any other question, let them rip.

Edit to add. Updates for the ORA Event Schedule have not been posted yet. 12 days total have been booked for Cedar Springs this year.

There are no benches at Cedar Springs. However, if you have a disability or medical condition that does not permit you to shoot prone, maybe something can be worked out. You would need to supply your own bench that must be easily portable as we shoot 300 and 400m from different firing points.
 
Amiens Range in place of Mons

I truly enjoyed the Intro Day at Amiens / DFB Borden on Sunday and would recommend an intro day for everyone. We had a few complete firearms virgins there and they also enjoyed the day very much.

If you have never been on a military range, you will probably like marking targets also. Where else can you safely experience bullets flying over your head and thwunking into the dirt 20 yds ahead of you !!

We did some snap shooting as well (5 second target exposure) just to get a taste of the Precision Rifle discipline. Good fun had by all. You can also use your own rig for some of the shooting if you wish - otherwise Savage with accutrigger and .223 cal. Enjoy !

At Cedar Spring I usually have my daughter as the Butts Officer. Every relay that reports to the Butts get a quick 5 mintue lesson on safety and marking targets. The most fun she has all day is watching people jump, swear, and almost piss their pants when the first shot goes over their heads:D

I had my 10 yr old marking targets in the butts as well, he ducked a few times but had a great time marking targets.

We let a couple of the intro's try the big 50 that john brought,,,, i've not seen that shade of purple on a shoulder for a while now, laff.
