Held today at Winona. A thunderstorm rolled through at 11:30, so we broke early for lunch and it was dry by the time we re-started.

The ISU match is a 60 shot match shot on the ISU Target, a 10 ring target with a 1 minute bull. It is a short range affair, at 300 meters, although today we shot at 300 yards. It was a bit windy, with a lot of variation I could not see. My elevation was ok, but the shots dribbled out the side.

Half the shooters shot off their elbows with iron sights. The rest of us wimped out and shot with scopes off a rest.

F Class is shot prone, off a rest, with a scoped rifle. Sounds easy, but the bull is half-sized. Think of it as prone bench rest. My neck got stiff, trying to shoot a 60 shot string.

Today I shot with my son and my grandson marked my target.

But I can't complain. The fellow beside me shot off a portable bench, because he has back and leg problems.

The shooter on the other side of me had challenges, too, but he does not let anything stop him. He "pulls" the trigger by blowing into a tube. I assume that trips a solenoid. He and his wife are an inspiration.
Today he was shooting a custom 280 Rem (not an Ackley).

Thanks for sharing these pictures, looks like a nice range.
The sierra ISU match is definitely quite fun.

Wow, the challenges faced by the last competitor, and the teamwork between him and his wife gave me chills. This has made my day, thanks for posting this Jim.

Not at all what I expected to read... Thank you for the post and awesome pics, what a giant beauty that last shooter is! kudos to his wife for no doubt all the assistance in setting up for the matches!
