ORA Practice - Winona Range - June 19th (Updated June 10th)

After a successful first practice at Winona on May 24th, our next practice is a full day shoot from 8am to 4pm, on Sunday, June 19th.

Course of fire to come (Winona has 300 and 400, so I am looking at 300 in am, 400 in pm).

Please PM me if you are thinking of attending, and what you want to shoot - we had 1 F Class target, 2 regular 300 M faces, and 1 Figure 12 at the last practice, so I will accommodate what folks want to shoot, within reason.

As a practice day, ORA members are already covered, so no fees!

That date just might work, seeing as Cedar Springs in down until Sept. Only about a 2.5-3 hour drive from here. Will paid markers be available?
 
I've not arranged yet for paid markers, however if there is enough interest, I can try to scare up some around here.....PM me if you are interested in paid markers.

Put me down for a TR target and I would take paid marking if there is enough interest and/or availability.

Sorry I was not at the last practice as I had just got back from the Victoria Day matches in Ottawa.

Winona Shoot - June 19th

Here is the tentative schedule for June 19th:


800 AM – Arrive, shooters arrive and sign in, set up targets
845 AM – Safety briefing by RSO, following safety briefing, butts party heads down range
900 AM – First relay, rounds down range (300 Yards)
1015AM – Change round, butts party and shooters
1030AM – Second relay (300 Yards)
1145AM – Lunch
1245 – Resume Shooting, First Relay (400 Yards)
200 - Change round
215 – Second Relay (400 Yards)
330 – End shooting, clean up of range
400 – Departure

Steve/Tom - So far you two are only ones asking for paid marker, I have the body, so let me know - I am sure you might be able to find another.

We will run 300 Yard Centres for all ranges. If you want to bring an F-Class Centre, we can squad one target for that. Same for Figure 12 if you want.

Note - Target frames are not located downrange so we will need help to get them down to the butts.

Hi Ron,
At least 2 of us, from down this way will need a marker if you can arrange it. I am also waiting to hear from 2 more shooters and they would also want paid marking. I will get back to you as soon as I hear from them.

Put us down for 4 shooters from Cedar Springs that will take a paid marker. We will shoot in pairs on alternate relays, so we can make due with one marker.
We will see you next Sunday.

Great day on the range at Winona, 18 shooters in total attended. 300m was shot, only a couple of interruptions from boats during relay 3.

Next shoot is in September, look to see everyone there.

Thanks for the great day. Make sure next time you appoint another RSO to spell you off every other relay so you can get some trigger time too. It was worth the 3 hour drive each way just to get in some short range practice. Please try to get down to Cedar Springs for a day this fall if our dates don't conflict. And please thank the young fellow you hired as our target marker for the day, he did an excellent job for his first time out.
