Sounds a lot like shooting in BC lol.

More updates:

* Do I have to remind you about Amiens Range at 0700 at the gate?
* Bring snacks in your shooting rucksack/backpack
* Bring water, stay hydrated!
* Dress for more rain, forecast is for 3 degrees but with the wind, it's gonna be below zero
* Ensolite or camping mat for shooting on / laying down and spotting, also
* Ballistic glasses in the butts, and shooting so that the ice fragments in the coroplast target backing don't mess with yer eyes
* bring work gloves for the butts, keep a pair in your shooting ruck
* notebooks for taking notes
* cameras allowed for the classroom session, lots of gear to document
* more notebooks and pens for the classroom portion on Saturday morning

More updates as they become available.

And yes, you have to wear them hardhats in the butts. Remind me to tell you why later on! :D

Cheers,
Barney

Packing my butts milk crate and firing line milk crate now.

Forecast according to my Weather Network App on the Iphone is : 0 degrees and possibility of light snow in the AM. 0 degrees and some scattered clouds/sun in the afternoon. Dress for wind and rain.

Bring spare socks, clothes, boots and leave them in your car so that you can change should you get wet in the afternoon. I need all of you to stay dry and comfortable while you learn lots and lots.

Did I mention ballistic glasses? Get used to wearing them all the time.

Here's a map and set of directions in case I forget:

Whoa I'm home now and the truck is unloaded. You guys were great and many more of you made me split a gut laughing especially those double rifle shooters who switched up their rifles overnight and showed up with new rifles for the 300 Agony Snap stage. Ha ha ha ha great lessons learned.

Gotta rest now. I am just bushed.

Cheers, Barney.
Talk to you later. thanks.

Great clinic Barney. Learned a lot about what to do and not to..lol..about those gas gunners...it won't happen again. :D

There were a few guys with the shooting mat that was also the carry case. Anyone know the brand of those and where they are from?

I used a Voodoo Tactical case. Now google sniper case or sniper Matt and hit the <image> button. You are gonna get piles of pictures and hits on the products you search for.

I did gander at one Eberlestock case and I do know their stuff is TUFF enough to deploy and drag around.

I took a nap and I am still tired from all that sunshine and laughter. You guys were just the best.

Need to grab some grub now.

Cheers, Barney

I got back to my palace in the Bridal Path and had my personal assistant post this. Just took my bath in Perrier, had a soothing hot stone massage, and now relaxing in my Gucci robe and slippers. Going to have my chef prepare some organic microgreens and grilled free range squid for supper and then enjoy some soothing aromatherapy while my armourer cleans my rifle and gold plates my primer pockets. :D

Seriously, we had an awesome time! Barney, John, and the other instructors put on a great course. We had a really good crew and high spirits, even through some weather on Saturday. Learned tons of stuff and gained a wealth of information about the PR matches, equipment, shooting, and the guy pulling the trigger.

If you are interested in this discipline or longer range shooting in general, I highly recommend you sign up for the next clinic.

Nice meeting you guys and gals and looking forward to seeing you in the future.

Thanks for everyone for attending and a huge thanks to the trainers for organizing and volunteering to do it in the first place!

Now, I only need a tactical cappuccino maker that I can fit in my kit.

You guys fzcking crack me up. LOL

Grabbing dinner right now and I am getting my energy back. Tonight I have to grease the bearings on my tactically modified golf pull cart. :)

Hope all of you are home safe and chilling out!

Cheers

Thanks for putting on this clinic. It was an amazing weekend. Great to meet some people with similar intersts and finally get past 100 yards.

I think for John's sake we should all show up with a shopping cart for our gear next weekend.

This was an excellent chance to try a new game. Just the time on range was well worth it too. As John the RSO would say, don't over think it, it's easy, follow instructions. I over think things and this was a chance to try and let that go. It made for a better time.
Also, once again, like in Service rifle, less equipment is better. The less equipment, the less fumbling past stuff in your kit you will not be using, the more time to listen to and follow range instructions, the less you have to catch up to others and find out what is going on next. The more you can relax and concentrate, the more enjoyable the experience.
As for next Sunday, I signed up to work overtime. I was eligible to retire last month but with just the cost of Service Rifle shooting, I can't afford to. Add the cost of Precision Rifle and it will be 'freedom body bag':p.
Thanks TacticalTeacher for your time and knowledge. I thank John the RSO for his time and teaching.

Barney (& the indefatigable John) -- thanks for staging a great PR clinic!! It was a lot of fun and a great intro to the ORA, PR and the type of people -- i.e. great -- the sport attracts (except those Perrier bathers). It worked, I am hungry for more PR trigger time! Met some great people who I look forward to shooting with again as soon as possible. Can't wait for my first match and getting my kids involved.

I think we forgot a couple thanks. The boys from Elwood epps who helped. Thanks for helping out and allowing us newbies to pick your brains. I know I was using them for tips and pointers. Ill be looking for them on Sunday lol to keep guiding me. Cause John and Barney made it clear that were on our own next weekend lol

As per the carts. I was actually thinking last night what I can do to make a spectacle lol either the motorized golf bag carrier that the old Asian ladies always use lol or a wheel barrow. Hahaha just to piss John off.

No problems. Anytime you have any questions you can call me at Epps. 705-689-5333. I am glad we could help out. It was a good time.

Regards,

Mike

Mike is your "go to" guy at Epps for Service Rifle, Service CQB , and Precision Rifle gear / rifles/ kit of all sorts because he uses all this stuff and can anticipate your every need for these matches. When you call there, just ask for his help in the 'Gunroom' and go from there. He can suggest stuff you need and / or alternates you should consider. I have sent many newbies to him and he has helped sort them out.

And on top of that, he's also your Butts Officer for that past clinic. :D

Cheers and keep helping them noobs out there!

Barney
