ya from what I remember, the RSO even said not to take pics. I wanted to take a gun pic from the firing mound of everyone's guns, but I feared John would kill me LOL

Thank you again to Barney and John for a great weekend on the range! I had a great time.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Can we stick to the topic of LR shooting? Dinner and political aspirations need to remain in the Firearms Politics forum! Thanks very much!

Cheers,
Barney

I'm unpacking my kit(2 days later) and as I ponder how all of you shot, I noticed that there were new folks to the PR game and sadly they did not attend the clinic the previous weekend of 5/6 April. So needless to say, they were very nervous about whatever stage/match was to happen next.

I noticed also that the folks who came to the clinic and then shot the match , PR1 13 April 2014, were that much more confident and able to climb the learning curve faster and more assertively. That's a nice indicator of success and progression from my 2 day clinic. That is a great thing.

Frankly, it was great to see the new folks, especially some non-ORA members do very well and then say, "Hey, I'm addicted to the adrenalin rush of the snap matches." :D

Any other reflections from the match?

Cheers and keep helping them noobs!

Barney

Hey Barney,

Thanks to you, John, and the butts officers for putting the match on. It was really fun and I am joining the ORA to shoot some more matches.

As a newbie attending my first PR match, I felt that the clinic had me well prepared. There is still a great deal to learn but the experience from the previous weekend allowed me to fine tune my kit and DOPE, increasing my confidence. Also, because we went through the match procedure during the clinic it lowered the anxiety level freeing me to focus on shooting and spotting, rather than wondering what I should be doing next.

I think the only thing I would have liked to have seen at the clinic was the deliberate fire match, but I think we all caught on pretty quickly!

Thanks again and see you at the next one!
