Note from Match Director
As far as I know the match is on. I have received no emails from Fazal. I checked he website and it shows it as listed. I wilkl check further but as far as I know its on. I can't believe someone else besides me
would know before me. Other than checking the schedule. I will email Fazal and inquire but I'm sure it is on. They bumped us from our June match but gave us another date. Fathers day as usual. It may not be the best date but at least we still gave a date. But the military needed the range. I plan at the first match as kind of a warm up to have 2 sighters at each distance on the fig 11. I think it will help everyone especially the newbies. There is nothing worse than firing all you shots for score and being off the target./QUOTE]

WORD in todays email
May 9th is cancelled and you have the 16th of May/QUOTE] DOD requirements
I have written for confirmation that the 16th will be same as 9th schedule.
Please pass this onto all.
Thanks
Gord

Hey Gunners,

Is the shoot on May 16th a practice or a competition? I have never shot long distances before but would really like to give it a try. Is it possible to just show up on game day with my precision rifle and a bunch of rounds and participate? Is there anything I need to know about getting into the CFB Borden? I don't have a spotter, can I still shoot?

I have gone to the ORA website but came away from it with more questions.

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

The shoot on the 16th is a competition, with room for extra sighters maybe. It will be up to the match director. You will need a minimum of 57 rounds to compete. Bring extra just in case. You will also need to know your come-ups from 300 yards to 800 yards. If you're not sure ask someone. If you show up with your rifle, and the paperwork you will be entered in the competition. You will be paired with another shooter. Both of you take turns spotting and shooting. As far as gaining entry to Borden make sure you have all your paperwork handy (driver license, PAL, rifle certificate, etc). The commissionaires/mp's will be at the gate to greet you. As this is a training center for mp's do not exceed the posted speed limit. You're just going to make someone's day.

As Terry posted, bring your rig, lots of bullets and paperwork. The rest will fall in order.

Ed runs a great shoot and there will be lots of helpful folks around for advise.

See you there.:)

Bump to remind all this is still a go for Sat.
Remeber to use Alliston or Angus gate as Lisle gate is very questionable and more than likely NOT open.
Weather forcast ....be sure to bring raingear.
