It's official and we are a go for this PR Match 3 on Sunday 15 June 2014 at Base Borden. Any updates are going to be posted HERE on this thread, nowhere else. So keep an active eye on this thread.

There have been some complaints about how the ORA website is not accurate (enough). It's a tough, annoying, and thankless job working with that software trying to keep it current through different levels of coordination. It's much easier and straightforward for ME, the PR Match Director to update things quickly, effectively, and timely right here on CGNutz. My apologies, but it works and this means works well. Just have a look at Service Rifle and Service CQB events put on by the ORA and my colleagues, we have large numbers (read: revenues turned in) and a super friendly communty(ies) built up over there. I was/still am part of that, and now I am HERE! :D The smallest match in CQB hovers around 40 shooters. Most of the matches we host at Connaught Ranges in Ottawa need from 12 to 15 targets (multiply by 4 relays). I'll let you do the Math.... :)

Disclaimer:

This is an ORA event run by volunteers and that includes ME! Nobody is getting paid for the delivery of said events. Let's get that out of the way to minimize complaints right now! I ain't getting a penny and I'm giving up my time (read: no road trip out West this summer, and I'm giving up on 10 clinics out there. Don't get me started)

When: Sunday 15 June 2014

Timings: Meet at 0700 to 0730

Where: CFB Borden's Mons Range, Target butts area, look for my Grey Tacoma Truck

Cost: ORA Members = $25, Non-Members: $25 + Guest Fee $45 = $70.00

How to Register:

1) Send me a message that you are going to shoot this match.
2) Prepay with EMT (that's preferred but not mandatory) or pay me in cash at Mons Range
4) EMT information:

Name: Tactical Teacher

Distances / Matches that we are gonna shoot... Here they come! I'm the Match Director and it's my call. Now we can mix it up a bit to offer a varied programme. :D

We are shooting: 300 Agony Snap, 400 Mover, 500 Snap, 700 Shoot/No-Shoot, 900 yard Harassing Fire (instead of 800 yards)

I am taking names of folks who want to compete on Sunday 15 Jun PR3 Match. After 30 years of marriage my wife reminds me that I frequently have my head up my butt, so if you told me a few months ago that you wanna shoot THIS match, well you better remind me again! :)

Cheers and keep encouraging them noobs out there!

Hoping to make this one.

Good on the 900.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. Now that we have done all the distances of the NSCC matches (for Mons Range, anyways), I can branch out a bit. I want to ensure that the newbies to the matches / sport/ discipline/ ORA members are comfortable, now we can open (that's a metaphor :D ) things up and stretch our legs a bit.

So folks, if you want on board for the 15 June match send me a PM (private message) and I will get ya on the list for the match. :)

Cheers and look after them noobies out there!

Stretch them out to 1000? That would be sweet!

That's a great idea Terry! I'd be up for that!

When you have people dropping only four points at NSCC something needs to be done to increase the difficulty.

Edit: scratch that... wouldn't work well for the DM shooters.

900 is going to be exciting. I like terry idea as well. Not only midi up the yardages but mixing up the different games at those yardages.

I read the rules on the dcra website. Not sure I understand the 700 shoot/ no shoot. Is there two different targets and you only shoot one and not the other? Is that right?

There are two figure 12's on the target board. One is designated the shoot target, the other is a no-shoot. If your hit the no-shoot, you get zero points.
