So here we are just a few days before Saturday 11 Oct 2014 and I have not heard of any Range Cancellations. Seems that we are a GO for the weekend. Let me know if you are on board. Email me your plans and ORA number and we will go from there! Also let me know if you are shooting with a partner and I can get some ideas on squadding. :D

Disclaimer:

This is an ORA event run by volunteers and that includes ME! Nobody is getting paid for the delivery of said events. Let's get that out of the way to minimize complaints right now! I ain't getting a penny and I'm giving up my time (read: no road trip out West this summer, and I'm giving up on 10 clinics out there. Don't get me started)

When: Saturday 11 Oct 2014

Timings: Meet at 0700 to 0730

Where: CFB Borden's Mons Range, Target butts area, look for my Grey Tacoma Truck

Cost: ORA Members = $25, Non-Members: $25 + Guest Fee $45 = $70.00

How to Register:

1) Send me a message that you are going to shoot this match.

Hey Barney is this course of fire the same or similar to what we did in Petawawa on the 27 and 28 of Sept. with the exception you dont shoot 500yds and I never shot at 800yd.

What days are the Borden shoots monthly ? and can I attend as a spectator ?

Hey Decker, you can check with the ORA for the schedule as there are several disciplines represented. I believe TacticalTeacher posted the precision rifle schedule early this year. You may want to check his posts. He's probably the best guy to answer any inquiries.

Anybody going to be in Anguish the night before?

It's only one day man, surely she can live without you for the Saturday if you promise to be extra good on Sunday and Monday. :)

In my case its a lot more then she. I have a European family with 96 parties to attend on that weekend. And at some point need to leave time for my wife's family which is a whopping 3 people LOL

I can't promise anything yet. Plus Ive been hunting ducks every morning and deer every evening all week. I need to explain all that "free time" as well. LOL

Yes, come along and smell the powder burn. Bring your earmuffs!

All of the other folks who replied here and via email and PM, I got you down on the sign in list. Thanks very much. Makes my admin life easier.

Course of fire is identical to what you shot in Petawawa on Sep 27-28 Clinic. Yes, this match will be 200, 300, 400, 600, and 800

Bring on the questions. It's Wednesday and looks like we are still a go for the Saturday.

Cheers,
Barney

It just happens i'll be in the neighborhood on the weekend, Minesing to be exact. Put me down for the match Barney. I have no partner, maybe a good thing cause i cant spot worth a dang.

400yds moving target? and 800yds?

Yeah remember at Base Petawawa and Yankee Range? We cannot shoot past 600 Yards and you will also recall that the covered butts cannot allow us to perform moving targets with a figure 11 overhead to simulate a "walking target"?

Make sense now? I adapted the clinic to fit the range resources we had at Yankee Range. So welcome to Baae Borden's Mons Range where we can perform movers.

Easy to adapt on Saturday when I squad you into four relays just like we so at base Borden.

No worries, mate.

Cheers, Barney.

Well boys I won't be attending. Its official, I'm a whipped yard dog LOL I tried, I even put new purse and shoes on the table... nothing. Apparently dinner with her family is more important on Saturday. I don't see it that way but I guess it is what it is. Good thing we still have one more shoot left.

Chago: Tell her that you have higher chance to win a "Gold Medal" or any colour medal. It is the PR Championship! Once a year.

I haven't tried shooting at 200 yards Rapid Follow Up before. My gun is a single shot so I gonna reload it as quickly as possible. :)

Dang !....I cant make it Thanksgiving weekend were out of town...... I work in the area and I'm in Angus?Borden daily. Im interested in the Vintage class. Guess I will keep checking ORA site for next shoot at Borden.

I am packing up the Toyota Tacoma now. Forecast calls for some clouds and sunny periods. High about 11 degrees. We will still have fun. Then like Chago, I have to make like a baby and "Head out" to the family cottage for Saturday night dinner.

The cabin boy, the cabin boy, the dirty little nipper,
He tried to suck the Captain off but couldn't find the zipper

Anybody know more of those verses?

At the 300 Agony Snap, the RSO and I will sing more of them verses to that song.

Time to get printing out the attendance or sign in sheet.

Cheers, Barney.
