Well, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that this match PR8 is good to go. The bad news is that Mons Range is closed for renovations so we are on VIMY Range. :)

So that means the farthest distance we are shooting will be at 500 yards (the 500 yard Snap match, you know, the single dirt shot sighter).

Disclaimer:

This is an ORA event run by volunteers and that includes ME! Nobody is getting paid for the delivery of said events. Let's get that out of the way to minimize complaints right now! I ain't getting a penny and I'm giving up my time (read: no road trip out West this summer, and I'm giving up on 10 clinics out there. Don't get me started)

Then again, this is my last match here for the ORA so it's a bit of closure for the end of the season. :dancingbanana:

When: Saturday 08 November 2014

Timings: Meet at 0700 to 0730

Where: CFB Borden's Vimy Range, Target butts area, look for my Grey Tacoma Truck

Cost: ORA Members = $25, Non-Members: $25 + Guest Fee $45 = $70.00

Ranges: 200, 300, 400, LUNCH , and 400, 500 yards :dancingbanana:

Yes, how many of us wish we could have more practice at the 400 Mover? Well here's you chance! :D

How to Register:

1) Send me a message that you are going to shoot this match.
2) Pay me in cash at Mons Range

Reserved for results....

And it's Sunday night and I've finally recovered from that cold day of shooting. Having to stand in the wind all day sure does funny things to your health. I played ice hockey in net while injured on Friday afternoon, so my knees were really feeling beat up. That's allright, it sure beats cancer. So I keep things in perspective.

Anyways here are the results!

Many thanks:

I was blessed with great butts officers like MikeT and Trevor McM... thanks for stepping up
We were glad to have one funny laugh fest on the 400 yard mover.... what jokes are told on Vimy Range have to stay on Vimy Range; or the hockey changeroom. :D ha ha ha ha

I am thankful for the quick cleanup for all the shooting veterans and shooting newbies, down in the butts! Thanks!

I am glad that all of you kept the spirits up despite the weather! Good fun was had by all.

I am thankful for a super cooperative community of shooters whose pleasure I have had over the entire season! Thanks for a super year! It's been great.

I'm thankful to JB our RSO for all the good times this year!

Cheers and warmest regards,

Barney (your now expired PR Match Director)

Hey Barney, is Vimy Range templated for 338 Lapua? Want to shoot this last match of the year with this gun just for sh*ts & giggles.

I have not heard back from my source at Range Control. So we are still waiting.

In the meantime the forecast calls for 5 degrees celsius and rain showers. Time to put together your wet weather plan. Ziploc bags for your score cards are your friends. Remember that we are only shooting up to 500 yards so all the scores will be called back. No need for clipboards inside of ziploc bags to record any scores. :D

Ensure you have a ziploc bag or two and some elastic bands. They form a decent sunshade to keep the rain off your lenses! I showed you guys how to do this at the April clinic (2 days.)

My mentor once told me,"There is no such thing as crappy weather, just the improper kit for that weather." The weather is neutral! :)

I'm doing up the score cards tomorrow, Friday.

Cheers and keep helping them noobs out there
