The ORA conducted Service Rifle match 5 this past weekend at Connaught Ranges. We had a total of 44 participants including two QMs. There was a relatively strong showing of 16 civilian participants some of whom took on significant travel time to attend.

We got to experience wonderful summer weather on Saturday with temperatures hitting the low 30s, and then monsoon rain on Sunday which added to the challenge for shooters on the line as well as in the butts (because everybody loves to stand in a downpour while holding a target over their head right?) Under the expert guidance of our match director we progressed through the shooting program efficiently despite the weather challenges and finished up with minimal overall delay.

Of note, despite the less than optimal shooting conditions a senior ORA member set a new record for score at these matches. Well done. Now the rest of us just need to catch up. :)

A big thanks to all the staff for the event for helping pull this event off and an even bigger thanks to our MD for herding all of us cats in the same general direction. Getting to shoot at Connaught Range is certainly a privilege that really should be experienced.

That rain was an interesting element but relay 4 we got lucky it stopped!
Also the sleeping cots were also a new element of surprise :)

Great match and well run again, Thx

P.S. Always Loctite your elevation and windage dial caps :) Inside Joke' lol

Big thanks to GGFG for putting up the tents and providing cots. Thanks to everyone involved in organizing and running these events. It is a great privilege, as a civvy, to be able to participate in these matches. Looking forward to the next time.
