This guy was recommended on a mostly US Mosin Nagant FB page.

Exchanged a few emails with him and decided to order a new bent bolt rather than modify the one I have. Cost is $70 USD for the bolt and $20 USD for shipping. I should get it in about a month.

I decided to go with him as his bent bolts have sufficient clearance and don't require cutting into the stock to accomodate the bent bolt.

This way I am not making any non-reversible changes to my '34 Tula hex, should I decide to return her to her initial refurbished glory at a future date.

I will of course post pics and comments after delivery.

I would be very interested in one of these if it arrives and functions properly. $90usd seems like a fair enough price.

Yes, $70 USD for a bent bolt that clears the stock is a fair price. Specially when you add in the fact you get to keep the straight bolt the rifle came with.

For $50 USD he offers to add a bent bolt handle to the bolt body you provide.

watcha builllllldin lalunette? spill the beans.

If you have a bent bolt in the mail, you have a project in mind.

I just ordered one from Corwin Arms, they just got them back in stock. Now I just need another mosin to put it on, an M38 is what I'm thinking of. Have a project in mind that's easy to put back to stock if I see fit.

I currently have a '34 Tula hex set up as my deer rifle. However, the eye relief on the scope is too far due to the straight bolt. It does not give me 100% fireld of vision through the scope.

Therefore, A bent bolt will allow me to place the scope closer to my eye and provide better target acquisition and improve my accuracy.

I'm of the opinion that a deer should be harvested as cleanly as possible and a better scope picture will help towards that goal.

So, I'm not building anything fancy, just improving my hunting tools.

I also have another Mosin I'm keeping stock for hunting in wooded areas where distances are shorter and a scope is not needed.

I'm glad you're able to exchange emails with him, because he certainly isn't responding to mine.....

Another good source is 'The Boltman'. Google Jim R Is The Boltman.
He has a good reputation on Gunboards Forum for his MN bolt work.

Look what I got today !!!

Now I can move my scope back for a better sight picture. Those deer had better watch out now !!

Fit is very good. The bend kisses the stock ever so slightly but that's ok with me.
