Ordered a NEA XCR/AR Stock Adaptor now what stock ???

I have the Magpul CTR on mine and really like it. Solid lock up and no wiggle.

Im still looking for a pic and report with the folder on. I am probably going to get the old lady to get me one for christmas but would like to see it on the rifle and get a report first.
Anyone?

I would say the adapter was not built with 100% quality control. There appears to be a screw missing,..to take up slack when it is in the locked position. I would say the spring is also too weak.

The screws were shipped to dealers last week. If you need one send us a PM.

yup,....I do need one, as I ordered one of the first ones Wolverine got in recently. thank you for rectifying this....
I will PM you with my information. If you could, please send me a longer spring as well,.or perhaps stronger spring.

Both are now in the mail.

thanks for the quick response. Other than that,...it does function. I used another spring to create more tension and now it works much better. It almost does not need the screw to take up the slack, but there is some minimal wobble without it.

Ok it has come down to finances, I just can't justify the price of the UBR stock and have decided on a CTR...

From what I understand I will need a buffer tube and nut but I now see there are 2 different sizes of stocks/tubes Mil spec and commercial which one should I order?

Either one is fine, but your ctr has to match, as the ctr is built for either commercial or mil-spec.

The Rock River arms operator stock is a nice option it comes with everything you need plus a couple parts you don't that you could sell or give to a friend. I have it on my XCR and I like the looks and the function of it. Here is a link:

Oops I forgot you would want it in OD coloring. Never mind then.

Thread size is the same on both models?

Which is better to get the milspec or commercial model or is there so little difference that it doesn't matter...

I'm running a CTR with the NEA AR adaptor on mine, I haven't been to the range with it in the new configuration, but it's a 100% better than the stock one, for me anyway. As far as the difference between Milspec, or Commercial, Milspec is a smaller diameter tube and stock, the threaded portion is the same. order what's available, but make sure, as previously posted that you match...Ie: Milspec to Milspec, Commecial to Commercial.

Just to confirm I only need the buffer tube and the nut?

I see that Magpul doesn't have a buffer tube listed what manufacturer do you recommend for the tube/nut?

Brand name doesn't really matter, it is not a structural piece.

Fabsports has some listed in the $40-50 range, also look on EE tubes come up for sale all the time. besides the buffer tube and nut you might want to get a end plate as well, it has a key to stop the buffer from rotating (the nut and plate often are sold as a set)
