Ordering 10/22 parts from brownells

Yes, that is correct. I have ordered everything from mags to parts. As was said, some parts will not ship if the manufacturer doesn't have the proper export paperwork. If you order it and they can't ship it they will just cancel it from your order.
What does SME mean?
Parts that are sold here in Canada (Kid) can't be shipped even if they are under $100 why is this?
I have tried ordering the Kid charging handle from several places only to have my order canceled price is $35-40
Brownels canceled my order for a volquartsen charging handle $36
Kid and volquartsen are sold here in Canada but nobody has any.

SME = significant military equipment. Some things fall under that category and some don't. Depending on manufacturer some things can be shipped and others can't.
i.e. 2 of the same fake suppressor but manufactured by different companies. 1 will be shipped and the other won't.
Here's a quick tip. Put anything you want in your wishlist. Then call brownells and asked if they can ship it to Canada. Some companies don't have an "international sales licence". I did this with a bunch of goodies and then once I knew it could be shipped I made my orders out. Some times multiple orders all just under $100. lol before shipping cost. One last thing some items they say it can be shipped but once the order starts to process you'll see on your bill the product you tried to buy with no charge to you. for my it was an A2 flash hider. SME.
yup same w. me about a stupid charging handle- but in Canada no one has any, no one knows when they are going to get it, and no one knows what they are getting before they get it. and oh ya you are going to have to pay over 30% than the usa where their dollar is worth less. What store owner doesn't know what he ordered- what they just come like some commie grab bag of cast off parts?
lilja barrel, double it, 150 buck stock, make it 250, ammo plus 40% above retail. why?
We have the same population as California with less gun laws, and the majority of our population is close to the border. Let's write the manufacturers to get on these slack ass Canadian distributors. Personally I think it is f ed, I don't understand why the manufactures don't pull their distributorship if they don't consistently stock x amount of product.
every other industry would. I just don't understand, its hard enough to make a buck so if you have demand, get the product in. and don't give me the ITAR argument fill out the paper work on a continuous basis, if you are too lazy hire a 14 yr old pay him minimum wage.

You can also ask Brownell's for a current registered manufacturers list. The list will let you know what manufacturers they can export. I have one from January located here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Pr40Gu7JcPHRCvm3tq7nxpbQrnUG2SqfpUjfTlemxcA/edit.
Also you can have them export items of higher value you just need to go through some extra steps such as obtaining an IIC (International Import Certificate) and gathering some basic documents to provide to the US State Department for an export certificate. If the items are SME or regulated then you'll also need to fill out a DSP83 form and submit that to obtain an export certificate. Brownell's does a very good job of facilitating this process, I'm currently in the process of importing a Troy 10/22 chassis and a few other items.
The process takes a little longer but it's worthwhile to obtain items that no one else in Canada currently deals with, of course they still have to be on the registered manufacturers list...

Second attempt to order a Volquartsen charging handle from Brownell's worked, don't know why, maybe they were just added to the ship to Canada list. This is the last part I needed to finish my build dubbed "Gopher getter". When you order Brownell's doesn't tell you how much shipping will be, just it will be added when shipped turned out to be $4.05 you can't beat that!
