Ordering a savage barreled action only

So i am considering doing a Savage tactical build up based on the 10FP model. But i am not sure where to get the donor action for most purposes the barrel action and trigger on the tactical model seams to be pretty good and seems to be a good place to start. I am just wondering if any one has tryed ordering a barreled action direct from savage rather then ordering the model with the parts you want whole from a dealer. further more i am weather or not it would be worth it to do so.

also does any one know if savage has they're export/import licancing issues cleared up yet

Buy a Stevens 200. It will likely be cheaper in the long run to buy a 10FP than to build one unless you get very good deals on components.
 
Sounds like the only thing you don`t want is the stock?
If that is the case then it would be cheaper to buy a good used gun. Sell the factory stock then purchase the stock you want.
