Ordering barrel from the US.

You need to get an import permit from canada and a subsequent export permit from america through an approved exporter.

There is significant hassle and the rules seem to keep changing.

Check out the legalese section for a lot of info.

I looked into bringing an 1100 barrel in from the USA in a private deal and this is what I was told. The CFC said they had no problem with it as long as I remembered to add the barrel to the registration for the gun it was to be used with.Yeah, sure,I'll remember to do that:rolleyes:.They said I needed no paperwork for a barrel only.Canada Post told me that they had no problem with a shotgun barrel in their system as long as the parcel was accurately labled.I was told that I should have no problem with Customs either.USPS also told me that they had no problem shipping a shotgun barrel only, also as long as the parcel was accurately labled. After all that I found the barrel I wanted elsewhere and never did order one from the USA.I'm simply passing on the information that I was given.
I have,on several occasions bought triggers and other items in the USA and had no problem getting them shipped by mail into Canada.
