Ordering barrels from US vs Canada - how much trouble?

Wondering about getting a conversion barrel for my Glock 22. How much trouble / paper work is involved and is ordering one from the States just a bad idea? Thanks.

You can't order directly as barrels are a restricted item under ITAR so you have to go through a dealer. Most vendors in the US will know this and not sell to you anyway. A number of vendors here have these barrels available from various companies but markup can get pretty high. Shop around.

You can get them from US but they have to come through a broker then dealer. Expensive way to go. Probably find something in Canada cheaper.

I don't know if pistol barrels are considered different than rifle barrels because I've bought rifle barrels directly from Brownells in the past. Just a bit of paperwork to do but it's easy and they guide you through it.

I got a 9mm bbl for my Glock 22 from ArmsEast. That was 5-6 years ago though.

I am a little surprised that there doesn’t seem to be anyone in Canada making conversion barrels! Anyway, found a ‘S3F’ G22 to 9 mm threaded fluted black conversion barrel at ‘Tactical Ordnance’. They were very helpful and got it into the mail immediately. Thanks gang.
