Ordering Brownells Glock 17 slide

I'm contemplating ordering the OR Brownells Glock 17 slide from Brownells.
does anyone have any experience with it? has anyone had issues ordering it directly from Brownells?
 
I suspect that item is controlled for export from the US. You'll need to get a Canadian IIC so that Brownells can get the US export permit for your order.
If you are serious about ordering it, contact Brownells to find out what is needed for them to ship. Call them. They know what they are doing.
 
No experience with that particular item, but lots with Brownells. Call or email, they have excellent communications and they know what they are talking about.
 
My advice is read the reviews online about the slide in general (quality & fit and finish) place the order, if they can't or won't ship it they will just cancel the order, your card is not charged till it "ships"

CBSA will spend about 6 months deciding on what to do? and thein finally release it. Enjoy & good luck.

BTW, there are lots of "threads" here about WTF is going on @ CBSA, find a good chair and get a beverage and start reading. My advice if it ships? which it should, wait a reasonable amount of time then call the 1-800 # and leave a message at the postal facility, and in the message, "try and be helpful to the poor confused CBSA agent" remember he's protecting Canada. They should release it in a reasonable amount of time, hopefully.

I ordered one of these exact slides recently.Very good quality and a decent price.No problem shipping it from Brownells end,however it took about 4 months to clear customs.
 
One of the changes made by President Trump made this process more simple, so (following the changes) one did not require an IIC or an export permit.

However...

I don't know what Canada is trying to do with this sort of thing, aside from their sitting on the packages for an inordinately long period of time before allowing them to pass.

Yep Montreal seems to be expedited. Toronto has been “undergoing renovations,” and has severely delayed customs.

Ordered slide from Brownells months ago. It was easy. Added what I wanted to cart, used promo code. Voila. Nothing else. Arrived a month later.
 
I'd really like to order a slide but don't wanna deal with what sound like nightmare Ontario wait times. Is it just a volume issue? Why is Quebec so much faster?

And most importantly, does anyone know a way to ship to Montreal and have it forwarded out of province?
 
The easiest thing to do, although a bit more expensive, is to go through an importer such as Prophet River, RDSC, or IRG. They'd look after the exportation/importation process, and you'd wait 1-2 months instead of 4-6.
