Has anyone here ordered from Varusteleka in Finland?

They've got very good surplus military gear suitable for cold weather hunting.

I was wondering if we get nailed with customs duties ordering from them.

I'm looking at some German military raingear.

Ordered, got VERY fast shipping. Came from Finland faster than many packages from the states.
Their own products are well made, I'm actually wearing a pair of their jeans and one of their merino tshirt while typing this. Buy with confidence, they are a reputable supplier.
Did get a customs charge, but I don't think it was more than what I'd normally pay GST/HST

Like any internationally shipped item, its hit or miss. You're SUPPOSED to pay duty on basically all of it, but they don't have the manpower to ding it all (which seems odd, as you'd think they MAKE money not lose money on it, which means hiring more people to deal with it would be a net-gain but whatever)

It's been a while since i ordered from them, but they were great, fast shipping. At the time i don't think there was any extra fees when it got here, or i would remember being pissed about it.

I have made a couple orders from them and my hunting buddy three or four. Never had any customs charges. Great service.

Make sure to order some fish #### (does not contain ####).

I’ve ordered from them thrice. Never paid any extra fees and it arrived remarkably fast each time. That German schokakola chocolate is so good!

Yes , lots of times. If you use the DHL shipping option you will be hit with a customs broker fee of $25 as well as the GST. I usually just use the Posti option, it takes a bit longer (7-10 days to Alberta) but don’t get the $25 broker fee.
I have a lot of their gear too , surplus and also Sarma TST , if you have any questions about any of the stuff they sell feel free to message me.
One thing I will say is that their sizes tend to run a bit big on the Sarma line of clothing. I’m an XXL usually but everything I’ve got from the Varusteleka Sarma TST line I could have downsized to XL and had no issues.

I have always used the Posti option. Duty charges are hit and miss. I have never had an issue with anything I have ordered from them.

Avoid DHL at all costs, especially if you live in a rural area.

Grizz

They are excellent to deal with. Fast shipping. Prices in CAD. I have never been hit with duty fees. I have had 4 orders go through this year without any issues, with COVID and all. I am waiting for an order I places earlier this week. There was a bug, as the payment went through, but I did not get a confirmation email, and my shopping cart was still full. I emailed them and they said there was a technical issue and that there were busy. They made it right and will get it out to me asap.

I contacted them and they said they couldn't take credit cards, (FRAUD ALERT) only and I have never done (FRAUD ALERT) and don't know how that works.

They said they are working on it.

I won't order anything until the new year now anyway, I don't need to contribute to the Christmas rush nor do I want to lose anything in it.

You can pay with a credit card through (FRAUD ALERT) without having a (FRAUD ALERT) account.

When the Varusteleka site sends you to (FRAUD ALERT) to pay (you will see the (FRAUD ALERT) login screen) look for the link under Login to 'Pay with Debit of Credit Card' then click on that and follow the instructions.

Hey, thank you Paul!
