I'm thinking of ordering gun magazines from the US, since they are much cheaper there (almost 50% cheaper).

I know that ordering barrel and receiver is just as hard as ordering the gun itself. How about magazines? Anyone have any insight?

Just order them from a licenced exporter, and if the manufacturer is registered for export, and the capacity is Cdn. legal, you should be good to go.

If the exporter has their paperwork in order they'll sell and ship it to you. For example, I've bought a 5 round mag for my Stevens rifle directly from Savage.

You can't bring it back with you from the US but licensed exporters can export from the US to you (as long as the manufacturer has their paperwork in order and the magazine is Canadian legal once it gets here).

Ordered 10 round Glock mags from brownell"s, choose priority post for shipping and keep your order under $100, never had any issues with customs.

Just make sure they are pinned to the propper capacity in the US or customs may seize them and charge you. They was a case of that a few years back with a guy and ar mag bodies.
