ordering mouds from USA

Yah crappy dollar, just look around there is lots of Canadian dealers who have molds, if its lee molds Amazon carried them and free shipping at $35. As well there is a custom mold maker in Saskatoon, who makes them on order, probably be about the same as paying for the crappy dollar and shipping from the states. Someone I am sure can remember the custom mold maker, I really just cant remember.

thanks for the replys. I've seem Boomers...It's just the I'm thinking about getting a 38-55, and there just doesn't seem to be alot of molds/interest about it up here....I have to go down to the States in a few weeks....i'm tempted to order some cast BPCR bullets from Montana and pick them up...but I'm not sure how that flys at the border...anyone know? I know I don't want to being any commercial reloading stuff back....but I wondered if cast stuff might be OK....sorta like the exemption for shotgun brass . Boomer seems to be all 45's

I have ordered molds from trackofthewolf, titanreloading and accuratemolds all in the states with no issues.

The only issue is the exchange rate.

i've placed 4-5 orders from NOE bullet molds as well as several group buys on cast bullets (noe and mihec molds) with zero issues.

Any bullet (cast, plated, powder coated, jacketed, paper patched) are a no go.

They are just fine to bring back from a US trip. I've both driven and flown back with reloading/casting equipment - declare it as tools and pay duty/gst if the amount is over your limit.

Custom mold guy in Sask is http://www.boomersmoulds.com, in Regina not Saskatoon. I haven't used him but I have heard good things about his work

I was looking for a Canadian distributor for Lyman moulds, and found Boomers site. Seems tough to beat...$96US (plus shipping) for a Lyman, or $100CAN for a one off, made to your own spec here in Canada. Single cavity only, but still tough to not look closely at.

Another member here once posted this handy little mantra for questions like these:

"If it's designed to go ON a gun, IN a gun, or THROUGH a gun - You can't bring it up from the states."

Wish I could remember the CGNr to give credit where it's due.

Bullet molds don't go on, in, or through, so you're good to go.
