Ordering powder from cabelas..

I only pick up in store to avoid these charges. I have had factory ammo shipped and bot paid the DG fee though.
^^ agree with this. Whenever I order powder or primers from cabelas I do the instore pickup option if it’s not in stock at my store. Pick it up on the way home from work. The DG good fees are so silly I refuse to pay them…
..... and their money are soon parted.
It pays to shop local or by visiting a site sponsor.
There are over 75 options to choose from who may or may not have exactly what you are looking for , but willing to earn your business.
As for the $250 surcharge I know of no one who will admittedly admit to paying that outrageous amount.
In my case, pick up local is not an option.

They also dont have any idea whats in stock.
Last fall i saw 4lb of H4895 in stock and i called and confirmed it too.
Then drove 2.5 hours only to he told at the gun counter that they had none and it had been an error.
I also got a strong fishy smell from the d-bags behind the counter there (Nanaimo) and that is the last time Cabelas will ever see me or my wallet.

That's what I have done as well. Check your package when you pick it up though. I ordered a couple pounds of Varget and ended up with a couple pounds of HS6 instead. - dan

I will only buy from Cabela’s if there’s a sale and I’m within driving distance or free shipping involved. I have no problem handling the wares and then buying from a mom and pop lgs or used lol.
Sometimes cabelas has a sale with free shipping, powder included. If I had a cabelas gift card, think I'd either wait for a free shipping sale, or buy the powder local and buy something else with the gift card.
Cabelas / Bass Pro has an excellent Veterans Discount so I shop there quite a lot. Discount ranges from 5-10%.
5-10% is considered a good discount for Vets? That's disappointing to hear.
The discount applies to everything including sale prices. So find an item on sale for 50% off and still get 10% off that.
If you'd rather pay full price, that's cool but I like saving on the saving.
