Greetings all - recently acquired a semi-relic condition 51 Navy. Backstrap has engraved name of an 1861 resident of Owen Sound, Ont. The serial # 7572 places it very early in production and I wonder if anyone can give a year to it. Also looking for a decent cylinder and a few screws if you have them. Cheers

A quick google search turned up year of production of your Colt Navy revolver as somewhere between 1851 and 1852(Serial numbers 2,500-10,000). You may be able to find original parts through Dixie Gun Works. Possibly also, Numrich Arms. Another useful site may be VGP Western parts(vgpwestern.com). Also, the Yankee Collector (yankeecollector.com) I have not dealt with either of these companies. But, these may turn up some useful leads. I wouldn't discount contacting Taylor Firearms. Pietta revolver parts are often a very close match to original Colt mfg. There is also Peter Dyson, in the U.K.(peterdyson.co.uk) This one is a bit of a stretch, but worth looking into, at the very least. Hope some of this helps.

Numrich Arms lists an original cylinder, for your revolver. Unfortunately, they will not ship this outside the USA. If interested, you could likely contact an importer like Prophet River, to assist. Don't know what you need for screws, etc., but there is also an assortment listed, too. These should ship to Canada, without issue.

i bought a cylinder for my antique 1851 from dixie gun works it's a uberti one but it also fits on the original colts with some modifications.
