If you have to shoot something for 7.5 minutes with this, you shouldn't be shooting it with 7.62 period.

I don't think any vehicle mounting this weapon carries enough ammo to shoot it for 7.5 minutes.

Maybe a DAP with these on the pods would carry a combined 7.5 mins between like 4 guns? Or a larger Cougar MRAP specially designated as a gun truck with a Dillon Aero?

Probably not, but sometimes those SOF guys surprise you with what they're willing to bring to bear.

That gun normaly would be run at 3000rpm which would greatly extend it's component lifespan. The maintenance schedule listed is based on 6000rpm. From experience using the Dillon varient the guns are fairly low maintenance as long as they are kept lubed. Very reliable and long lasting weapons really.

I have used the Dillon model as well. Even running them nonstop for up to 30 or so seconds they just never quit. Thank god I wasn't the one paying for the ammunition! I'd love to get behind one of the "six-pack" guns.

There were usually always a couple of Minis at the Knob Creek shows. Typical bursts lasted 5-10 seconds. I saw them shoot many times and never witnessed a stoppage. Of course they kept them well maintained. Shooting a Mini is a rich man's sport but boy are they impressive. Even moreso when they used tracers.

At 80 km/hour l that is 22.22 m/s that is about 50rd/s at 3000 rpm - so the spread is 50 rounds per 22m - 1 round per 1/2m.

Reason aerial gunning needs high rate of fire.

Huh? I collect firearms sales brochures. I have a lot of Colt ones back to the 60's. I have most of the Diemaco ones. I also collect owners manuals military and civilian for black rifles. So if anyone is getting rid of any let me know.

Yeah I imagine 4 of them going off at once, plus I think it's a 30mm (on the DAP) would be insane.
