Original spencer Rifle PICS

I just acquired an old original spencer rifle. It has a 30" barrel and the rifle has 2 barrel bands. It is in fair condition but not bad for being around 160 years old. It appears to be fully funtional but I have no ammo to try. I can find no identification marks on it other than a serial #7778. When I check pics on line they all have the roll stamp on top of the action Spencer rifle. Also I don't recognize the rear sight compared to online spencer pics.I can't get pics on here. I would like to know more about this cool old rifle.

I just checked and I can see were the sling swivel on the butt stock has been removed and covered . Also, I can see were there used to be a third(middle )barrel band. The butt stock is in poor shape with multiple cracks and is slightly loose on the action.

You’re not really going to find shootable ammo as it’s one of the big rimfires from spencer.

Options would be to get or make reloadable rimfire brass or convert it to center fire with a center fire breech block. If I remeber right .50-70 brass con be converted.

I just added some pics . I think I might just move this old piece of history on to somebody who might appreciate it. I'm more of a shotgun guy. Maybe you civil war buff's could help me with the value. I don't have an idea what I should ask for a rifle like this.

drm3m can probably give you the best estimate. & Not to be insulting, but I suspected in it's condition, it's worth the sum of it's parts v.s. the price of restoration. It would make a great wall hanger in the right home though! Maybe some would trade a shotgun for it on the E/E?
 
Got my center fire conversion from S&S they shipped no problem but that was 8 years ago lots of spare parts to
