Original, unused M14-E2 stocks available!!!

What would be required to actually use this stock on, lets say a Norc M14, if one were to buy one of those stocks? The ad says that the parts kits aren't available. Have patience with me people, I'm new to the M14 thing.

First you would have to do the popsicle stick mod, and minor inletting you would do for any other USGI stock (see the stickies). You are unlikely to find the proper E2 foregrip or buttstock, unless someone stumbles on a cache of them somewhere, but really, you don't need them, it is more for the "comletist" who wants the 100% correct looks. I would suggest finding a "Limbsaver"-style rubber buttstock and cutting it to fit the E2 contours.

You'd have to make up a buttpad of sorts and the stock is useable as is.
Uses same ferrule (nose cap) as any chinese plastic or wood stock and same stock liner.
Original E2's that were put into service, came with external parts like the biopd and forward grip accessories that are beyond unobtainium.

The Treeline E2 stock comes with the ferrule & liner, so no worries there. I suppose the front folding grip would have been useful in a full-auto situation, but IMHO is not very ergonomically designed on the E2, and I for one have never used it while firing.

The nice thing about these stocks is that the comb is higher than on regular ones. So no need to add a cheek riser if you want to scope it. Also should reduce muzzle climb, and felt recoil, not like there is a lot of recoil with these rifles. Boy they sure suck up the linseed oil.

I'm glad I got mine before they run out..I wouldn't be able to stand the abuse of me kicking myself in the ass for the next 10 years!

I remember reading that post several years ago. So all you need is the long swivel and buttplate? I've drafted out a
template of the folding buttplate from an original. I could scan it and send you (or anyone else) a copy if you want to try to cut & bend your own.

I ordered the stock last night, but I'm still not sure how I'm going to approach the butt plate, I'm not metal worker that's for sure.
Seems like the easiest route would be to modify a rubber butt plate and drill it to match the E2's holes, but I hate rubber butt plates, they catch on everything.
Part of me wonders if I could shape a wood cap that would fit in place using the same screw holes, then stain it to either try and match it, or go with another darker colour altogether and just accept that it will be different, then oil the whole stock...

I dunno...just want that stock!
