A precision build has been on the horizon for me for some time. Over the last few months I’ve bought a scope, rings, etc, and after I was given a Rem 700 AAC-SD in 308 for my birthday, it all came together pretty quickly. I ordered the new Oryx chassis to replace the HS Precision stock (will be for sale soon :)) my gun came with. Ordered it on January 4th, and received it on the 14th. I didn’t get any tracking sent, but it was a nice surprise when it showed up:redface:

As this was a bit of a budget build, I thought the Oryx would give me good value and performance, while still looking cool, for my tastes anyway. Definitely did not disappoint! Showed up in a nice box, with the hardware and a little instruction kit. Very impressed with the finish quality, exactly what I’d expect from MDT. Love the look of my gun

Tomorrow I’m hoping to sneak out of work early and get it to a range and see how it handles. It may not have all the features available on other chassis’, but at the price point I’m very satisfied so far.

Took it out yesterday to Stittsville on what started out as a nice warm winter day, by Ottawa standards.. Great feel, length of pull was great, loved the feel of the grip, and tucked nicely into my shoulder. Started out on the 100 yard range, managed to dial it in and get a 3 shot group just over half an inch, so was pretty thrilled. After that, the wind picked up, I got cold and started shaking, and my groups started becoming super inconsistent, so I couldn't properly get it going on the 200 yard, and didn't even bother with 300. Temp dropped 6 degrees in the 3 hours we were there. Can't wait to get a warmer, much less windy day to really put down some nice groups! Definitely still happy I chose this chassis.
