OSTS custom built review of my PDW (many pics)

It is difficult to install gas block under the URX after installing the barrel nut - it is not possible to install gas block first before tightening up the type 1 barrel nut.

The cadex lower is nice - saw one in person. Some pretty spoiling features such as beveled area above the trigger and it is made of 7075.

So you're saying there isn't a low profile GB that will fit under the URX rail? If that's the case, then I would select a different rail. My concern was protecting the gas block and gas tube, but as Beltfed pointed out, the additional 2 inches of rail wouldn't hurt to have either at a near zero weight penalty.

It is not so much about the size of gas block - noveske gas block will definitely fit.

What I am saying is that, for the older carbine URX with type 1 barrel nut, the gas block must be installed after the handguard is installed. Pinning the gas block under the URX could be tricky as the URX blocks the pin hole. It has been done before but it is not as straight forwards, as it was not designed for that.

If you have the midlength URX 3 with the type 2 barrel nut, this is a non-issue.

I understand now.
