Other Savage 24 / Combination Gun/Drillings owners?

I have a 30-30 over 20 gauge Savage 24. I'd much prefer a 30-30 or 308 over 12 gauge. But any of the center fire rifle combos are hard to find. At a decent price anyway.

I have a 22/20g camper and love it for grouse hunting. I had a 3030/20. The 3030 was a tack driver but the sights were off a bit for the shotgun. Great guns for what they were designed for but not for everyone. Expect to pay a premium for a good center fire over any shotgun gauge.

24-C; this is my second one, because foolishly I let the first one go. Stupid move, because 24-C Number 2 cannot compare to the regulation & accuracy of Number 1 now gone.

Springfield CZ Scout M6; In 22 Hornet & 410. A real pussycat and well regulated. Why did I wait so long to purchase one??

JP Sauer drilling from 1890s; 10x10x45-70. Very accurate and very heavy. This one is quite often carried over the shoulder African style carry. Not the quickest but my back can only tolerate so much at 10.5 pounds in unloaded weight!

Edit; Once upon a time I also owned previously a Bronco Garcia combo gun in 22 LR/410. Accurate enuf but a tad bit too fragile for everyday use.

I have a 24s in .22 over 20 and love it! Got my first rabbit with it the other day with my first shot on my first hunt. I won't ever let this gun go. I've been looking for another one in a center fire caliber for a property I deer hunt. It has a lot of hills, is close to town, and has a walking trail through it. Lots of times I've been out with my rifle and wished I had a shotgun instead.

I have an older 24c with .22lr over 20g that I picked up for my sons' first grouse gun. It is a heavy beast, which will be good for the 20g on their small shoulders, but the rear sight on mine needs replaced. I'm going to see a smith and look into some fixed FO on it.

I have a Remington SPR-94 (Baikal) .22LR/.410 combo. It has interchangeable chokes and currently has a scope on it. I use it for pest control and having the versatility of both rounds available to me has come in handy, but is not a necessity. I like it as a tool. It is accurate enough, reliable enough, but really not spectacular in any way. When I bought it, there weren't really any other combo options around and nobody wanted to part with a model 24. Would I buy a combo again, not necessarily. I could take them or leave them I guess.

And that guy arrives...
I had a Stevens in 22 / 410. Got rid of it after my daughter put a shell in and closed it, the extractor had enough play that the rim of the 22 got underneath it.
As she shut it the extractor set off the cartridge. Got a new extractor from Numrich, same awesome fit...moved that ole gun along.
Hoping that the Savage units are better, but the Stevens..not great units IMO. Plastic stocks too...nice.
