OTOKIAKS Spring Hunt 2013 pics.

Note: Don't eat Wolf meat, and I wouldn't recommend feeding it to dogs either. They transmit Hydatid disease to humans, and canines and ungulates are carriers.
Not sure if the parasites survive the cold up there, but a general good practice. Use the hides and skulls, and the rest for bait.

Never caught a wolf before(hopefully will this year on the new line)but have caught plenty of fox and they smell pretty rank. Not only on the outside but on the inside as well it's like they've got acid blood or something it stings the nostrils. Couldn't imagine ever eating a canine.

Well we left yesterday northwest of Rankin Inlet to an area call Barbor Bay to look for more muskox to hunt. Success as 5 of us got a muskox each today ... one being a galfriend of my buddy's for her first time. We caught 2 caribou and some geese and ptarmigan also. We travel out to Barbor Bay yesterday and early this morning we did a long tour ... all in all we probably did 160 plus miles round trip ... I'm so beat but happy! HAHA. Hope you like the pics. My buddy Sonny James about to skin his big bull.

My buddy Rocky Airut with his young bull ... had a great set of horns and almost all white.

My other "brother" Joseph with his muskox.

2 pics of myself with my muskox.

I can't find the picture I took of my buddy Rob's galfriend Emily who also caught a nice muskox today ... when I find it I'll post.

We are planning a trip up to your part of the world in the next two years. It will be just fishing unfortunately. Thanks for the photos.

Where are you planning on going fishing up here in Nunavut?

No real ideas as to specifics yet. We are going to head your way via the Yukon, spend the whole summer travelling and will be set up for fishing along the way. We know nothing about your part of the world so wide open for suggestions.

Buddy of mine caught a wolf and thought it worthwhile to see if it was edible. He baked some and found it unpalatable so to the grinder it went, then mixed with pork and into sausage. Also unpalatable.....health concerns besides, it is not worthwhile trying!!
