Ottawa area outdoor restricted ranges

I know the R.A center has a pistol range indoors which I might join later this year but I was wondering about area outdoor ranges for pistols and rifles? I have been to stittsville and asked but it seems pricey, and you can't shoot prone or standing,one of my friends just joined the smiths falls range and I plan on checking it out with him soon, but I am wondering if there are any closer options out there. I plan on buying a handgun and an AR in the spring so I figure I better start looking at ranges now. I live in Parkwood hills.

EOHC, SFFGC, Grenville and Connaught are the ranges around Ottawa.

CFO won't let any shooting away from the bench at SFFGC unless under RO supervision.

good choice for a nice outside range.

Connaught has service rifle and pistol. You can shoot rifle in just about any position that is safe.

On a side note I have no idea why prone is so verboten at ranges. I find it the most natural position and far more comfortable then the bench.
