Ottawa Area Ranges

Grenville fish and game is very inexpensive and a family membership is only $10 more than a single person if that interests you. the facilities are top notch as well. They have trap & skeet, rifle 25,50,100 yrd , handgun out doors and are working on completing indoor hand gun and archery range. You get the combo to use the range anytime between 9am and sun down , and many times will have the range all to yourself. For the $$ I think it's a no brainer.

It's worth highlighting that by saying 25, 50, and 100 yards, fistful means there are three ranges - a 25/50, with another 25 in around the back, and a 100yd. Chances of finding all three in use at the same time are very slim. When I was a member, I almost always was the only person there.

I was in the same boat and was trying to decide between EOHC and Grenville (I'm about the same distance in terms of driving time from both, though EOHC is physically closer). I ended up getting a Grenville membership as a birthday gift. Haven't been there to shoot yet (as a member), but I went there twice last summer for shotgun courses. Very nice facility, and of course the price is awesome. I hope the reports that it's rarely busy are accurate :)

They're also working on an indoor archery/pistol range (for an additional membership fee).

I also hear good things about the Grenville outdoor range, as a replacement for EOHC, but have yet to visit.

I'm a member at Grenville and will gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a great club. Very nice property, well maintained, 4 pistol ranges, trap/skeet, 100m range and soon to come a new 25m indoor range. People are friendly, clubhouse it fantastic too! It is rarely very busy at all, I'm frequently the only shooter there when I go, unless there is an event being held.

The best part is the price, $75 a year is hard to beat.

Grenville is top notch, obviously.
Another bonus with Grenville, is that with their ATT course, they won't get you the neutered ATT, but an "all range" ATT for Ontario.

Im a new member to the RA.

Whats Smiths falls like? Im in Almonte and thought of checking S.F. out but i heard RCMP shut it down???

Can anyone elaborate??

Theres also Red Do-little in Arnprior, brand new indoor range open 4-5 days a week you go anytime. But 3 mos probation and a memb fee $3 bills.

You heard wrong.
SFFGC had a 1 week temporary closure of one range while we upgraded the 100/200 range a few years ago but has never been shutdown for longer than that.

I had the same dilemna and joined teh EOHC .. they were GREAT a few years ago and the drive was bearable... I wish i had known about Connaught Service Pistol club earlier .. I shot with the service rifle group there and they were great guys!

The RA Center was the most convenient .. but the lead exposure cant be good for you!

I have the "All Restricted Ranges" ATT, as do most of us, but yes Connaught and other CF Ranges are not included - need a specific ATT for those.
