Toronto Sun, today, Page 33, there is a great picture of an Ottawa Police sniper with what looks to be either a Timberwolf or Coyote but it is definately a PGW, great pic. of the rifle. If someone could get the pic. and post it that would be great, I cannot find it anywhere.

Funny, Ottawa doesn't like guns or gun people, but they should at least tell that guy the dangerous end points the other way!:)

I assume this is the picture you guys are talking about?
Nice Rifle, too bad the trees are in the way :)

The free Ottawa transit-time paper had a much better shot. My CGN coworker and I had a fun few minutes of photo interp' before getting back to the serious business protecting the nation.

We IDd it as a PGW. But he asked the obvious question about which force would have a .338 in downtown Ottawa. He didn't think any municipal forces or the national force would, which leaves the black balaclava club boys ... Anyone else ask the same question?

Accuracy

It is interesting that many of the boys claim that a flat trajectory or longer range doesnt add to accuracy but PGW says this about their weapon:
"Prior to its acceptance, the Timberwolf had been tested at CFB Gagetown (both in comparison trials and at CISC, the Canadian International Sniper Concentration ). The C14 has replaced the C3A1 within sniper detachments and is being phased in for Designated Marksmen at the company level. [2] With its range and flat trajectory, the C14 will be
a deadly addition in Afghanistan."

Flat trajectory doesn't translate into accuracy by itself. It does however make hits on targets at unknown distance a little easier as there is more room for an error in wind and distance estimation and ranging.

If I know that the target is at 700yds I can get just as good of hits regardless if I am using my .308 or .338 (notice the distance is in the do able range for both and not factoring in wind). If I am estimating the target is somewhere between 750 and 800 then I find it easier to get on target quicker with the .338. Of course if you start stepping out to further distances the .338 makes the obvious choice.
