The Brigand
In Russian Folklore, there's a character called Solovei the Brigand, or Nightingale the Robber. He was part human and bird and could fly. He's stun passers-by with his whistle and then cry out: "All the grasses and meadows become entangled, the azure flowers lose their petals, all the dark woods bend down to the earth, and all the people there lie dead!"--which I think is the unofficial motto of the SKS, if my old Babushka is to be believed. One of the stories has him destroying the palaces of Vladimir the Great just by whistling.
