Re "Ethnic Cleanser" -- meh, I half-heartedly apologize for unintentionally offending some people.
Half-hearted because I think some people manufacture offense so they can express their indignation.
For others emotions distorts perception, giving rise to misperceived slights. Sometimes a strawman is the only one doing the offending.
In this thread we have pages upon pages of names, some funny, some dumb -- a few *absurdly stupid* names and some (purposely) in poor taste, and they break up the monotony of (over 800) pretty-good names.
'Ethnic cleanser' was simply meant as one of those type of stupid, absurdly-inappropriate names for a rifle or rifle part. Roll your eyes and move on.
I was also poking fun of those classic "heavy-metal band names" like "Destroyer", "Worldslayer", "Annihilator", "Marauder" etc. -- in that context, "Ethnic cleanser" was simply meant to take that genre of names to a ridiculous, absurd level.
Given that I didn't name a specific ethnic group, or specific historic atrocity, the term is as generic and unspecific as "genocide" or "massacre". If we're going to be consistent in our outrage, Page 1 of this thread has the submission, "Worldslayer".... yet not a peep from anyone. Isn't slaying the world worse than an ethnic group??
