Our Soft Body Armor Policy

I like Dave's a lot. I am disappointed in this policy. I understand where they are coming from, and it's his decision, I respect that, however I remain opposed to any such policy. Reminds me of Questar's "PAL for everything" policy.

I don't agree with a business refusing to sell something that is perfectly legal for anyone to own. If it shouldn't be sold, why isn't it illegal to sell it? Why doesn't it reqiure a license to purchase?

That is the EXACT same thing as gun owners getting blamed for a ciminals use of a gun. Fact is, I will never buy anything from Dave's again due to this policy.

It has nothing to do with 'entitlements' as some would like to say, it has everything to do with freedom.

The difference.

RH Nicholls allready has that policy... so what is different.

The difference is that EVERYONE knows that RH Nicholls is a bunch of a$$hole$ who just occasionally hold their noses to deal with us poor unwashed civilian masses, whereas up to this point *we* thought that CGN sponsors and dealers were upstanding individuals/businesses that had similar values to most CGNers. I guess *we* were wrong about some of them. Disappointing to say the least.

Because often if an industry can regulate itself in a way that is in the best interests of all of society, then it does not require government intervention. If businesses did not behave like Dave's is trying to do, the government may choose to step in and limit your rights. That is assuming that one can argue that a vest is a right, which I have not heard an argument on either way.

Just glancing at the Banners of supporting CGN dealers I see at LEAST 4 others that sell Body Armor and only sell it to LEO/MIL....

so DSTactical would be #5....

good post, very sensible answer... :)

my other question is, you guys all have used daves in the past and all have recieved a CGN discount, so do not blather on about how DSTactical is not supporting us Canadian Shooters.

I understand the reasonning behind it, but it also leds to the policy of why stop there, without many 'tools' risk would be deminished at every step....right ??? Wrong..... and that is what we keep fighting over and over again against the 'anti' establishment. It is sad to have one that is on the RFC's team try and sell us the same line. I understand the perceived reason for it, but it's based on the same 'anti' faulty premiss.

Good point.............
I look at it like this.................I dont want or need a 12.6 hand gun other than I can't have one.

Well out with them! They are all in the wrong.

Saying it's up to the companies to police society is like blaming McDonald's for being fat!

That's right!!

I guess TSE, Wolverine, Oneshot, Epps, etc, will not be seeing any business from the angry posters in this thread either.

I am sure you can all guess who sells to MIL/LEO... no need to out them, you would be surprized by how many gunshops bid on contracts that stipulate "no civilian sales" either put in there by the company that makes it or the end user.... why do you think we cannot buy a domestically produced COLT/DIEMACO firearm. and yet a lotof you support colt.

Pretty pathetic policy. CarbonRod i guess all the site sponsors should stop selling ARs and handguns because as the Liberals put it what possible use could anyone besides LEO/Mil have for these "weapons".
Daves butchered both of my orders from them, worth a couple hundred each, never answered my emails and even butchered my order over the phone when I called to ask what was going on.
Lots of other supporting sponsors to do business with.
