I was out today ammo testing my recently aquired Annie Match 64 I bought from another member. It was a little foggy to start and a little breezy. It took about 6 rounds to sight in my Vortex crossfire 2 6-24x50 bdc reticle scope.I had also found some 30mm BKL rings from another CGNer.I also brought along my trusty CZ452 varmint for a comparison. I also had plenty of other ammo that my CZ's don't like.I sighted the Annie in with Aquila SV and then tried 3 types of RWS,CCI SV,Greentag,SK rifle match, centre X,Federal gold metal match ,and 711b.The best results all shot at 50yds was the centre X .I was only able too shoot 4 groups as I only had 20 rounds of centreX the groups were .418,.343,.231 and .628.The biggest surprise was a .332 backed up with a .18 from cheapo federal 711b.Needless to say I am very impressed with the Annie.I then pulled out my 452 varmint with a 2.5lb trigger pull and shot 5 groups of sk stnd plus for a best.395.I have come to the conclusion the Anschutz is far superior to a CZ and that my CZ's may soon be up on the EE.Everything about the 40 year old annie is better the action, how the stock rides the bag, trigger.I can see a 54 action in the near future.

Nice report, thanks for sharing. I've got my share of Anschutz and CZ rifles, they are very different animals. I've tasted the CZ koolaid and I can see the attraction, they are nice rifles that are a step above Savage and Marlin. Once you pull the trigger on an Anschutz, your CZ's seem primitive. I started with an Anschutz 64MPR and shortly after I picked up a CZ Silhouette. I've gathered more of each, but the Anschutz win hands down. I've got an old CIL 180 that will shoot groups my CZ's can only dream of.

I really like your bench design, I might have to borrow it. Does it fold or come apart quickly?

Yes the bench comes apart and folds up.I just bring a cordless drill and remove the outside supports and then it folds together. It's a tad heavy but very stable.

Hey, the Annie should shoot better and be better overall, its 3x the price :) I'd actually say that your CZ shoots pretty damn good considering its a mass produced $500 rifle.

Ahhh Man and there was supposed to be a CEE Zed in the photo heavy pics;)
Its all Good.
Shoot what yah brung and have fun.
The day created havoc for both guns from the looks of things.
I gotta get out and bust a few rims this week.
Tuesday , weather permitting.
Thanks for the Test and Challenge to provide some targets,
Two 3/4'' ply for a bench top and 2x4's???
Rob

Yeah, looky that..........shoot the CZ first next time.
Then compare notes.
Looks like a fairly cold day and the CZ gits cold pinkies.................:rey2

Awwwww, I'm jest funn'in yah.
Looks like you had fun.

Thanks for the photos.

Read my mind kamlooky! :) Actually, I would be curious to know if the CZ was a bit of an afterthought. (happens to us all) No shocker that the Anschutz shot that well. A little surprised the CZ didn't shoot better~mine 452 Varmint does better than that @ 50 yards. Only modification is a YoDave trigger.

BTW~thanks for posting. It's been -26C here in S. Ontario the past few days, -35C with windchill. I've been a bit of a couch potato...so it's nice to see somebody getting out there. That spot looks pretty sweet, as does the bench. Great post.

I had several CZ's. Great rifles and for the money, quite unbeattable. But then i got snobbish and I began buying Annie's. I ended up selling the CZ's...

Nice results with the Center-X. Did you clean the bore between different kinds of ammo?
No cleaning bore just swapped from one to the other .I thought about it but forgot my rod.I am very impressed with the shooting of the Annie.I did keep my ammo warm in a cooler

THe Cz,s shoot well but not as good as the Annie.I shot my best group ever a .18 with the Annie on its first outing with cheap federal 711b.Im very impressed for a 40 year old rifle.
Heres a few groups with my piller beded Boyds stock CZ452 varmint with mostly sk std plus as thats all both my CZ's prefer and trigger about 8oz.
Shooting the CZ is not an afterthought as I have lots of time behind the 452 and did a sucessful challenge with it.I don't think it will take many tries to do the challenge with the Annie.

I just traded for a Model 54 and can't wait to shoot it. It came with a so so scope and 2000 rounds of target ammo. Anyone know anything about Remington/Eley ammo? I never saw Remington and Eley on the same box of ammo there was 500 rounds included in the deal.

Hey Al,
Now come down to Petti w. the rest of us old chaps and shoot that Annie.
The Eley/Rem should shoot ok. I've tried the different series, but depends on the particular rifle. I shoot Lapua on really cold days; the Eley gums up a bit due to the heavier type lube. For summer it's A1. Green Diamond sell it locally.
I've got to head to the range soon to trial out a Cz453Varmint I picked up recently. Will be interesting to see Vs my Annies.
