Out of production rifles you'd like to see brought back...

I always thought the B-78 was a nice rifle. Much nicer than the No.1. I had one in 25-06 and if it had been a .30 cal of some sort I probably would have kept it. Beautiful bluing and deep red walnut, shot like a house on fire also. I also miss some of the older BARs, the current short/long trac models do nothing for me.

Older Model Sevens with the 18.5” barrel and iron sights were nice guns too.

Hey the B-78s were nice. I talked a buddy into buying one from Lovett's Kitchener when they had the .243 only on clearance for $229. Real nice bluing and walnut to die for! He still has it. He killed one nice stag Caribou and put it away.

I doubt there’s very many of us even on here that would foot the bill for the rifles requested in this thread if we had to pay the actual cost of them today. For the most part these rifles dissapeared because we wouldn’t foot the bill for them when they were around.

I was thinking exactly the same thing as I was posting a few days ago. Even the rifles that I wanted to come back? With what I already have in the safe, I wouldn’t buy them.

The 1st Generation Ti 700? 20 years ago it was a great idea. These days I would take a Barrett Fieldcraft or a Kimber Montana ahead of it every time. In fact I have.

Very nice indeed

With the accuracy of today's machining, the Ross could make a hell of a rifle. The 96Ruger in 44 Mag, and a few other pistol chamberings would be nice too. But a better stock finish this time eh?
For those of you that have never experienced the 96, it's light as a feather, fast and not bad for accuracy. My wife's favorite deer rifle.

Sounds like a great rifle..

Leveractionjunkie nailed it ! This all came about because people would not spend the money . It’s even worse today . This is not inexperience talking this is s guy who’s first job working in a gun shop was in 1976 and still works in a independent gun shop today have never worked in s chain outlet or s box store . Buying s savage axis or a ruger American is something I wouldn’t even consider . Push feed model 70’s were some off the best model 70’s ever made I have a 90’s version in 400h&h and it feeds a smooth as my pre 64
