Outbound 20-60x80 spotting scope on sale at CT

I picked up the 60x80 scope...for $80 it is a very good value. I could easily see .30 cal holes at 200yd. I will be mounting it on a heavy photo tripod as the included tabletop tripod is pretty light and subject to vibration...and is probably vulnerable to tipping.

I picked up the 20-60x80 Outbound this morning. Set it up in the shooting shed and looked at the targets I still had up on the range. I can see 30 cal. holes easy at 300 yds and 45 cal holes all the way out to 500 yds. The spotter does need a much better tripod so that will be next. Temp is 43 F so we need it to get into the 60 and up temps to see how it works out when warm.

Nice results, did you pay full price ($199.99) for it?

I did as it was not on sale here in NWO.

Last sale ended a couple of weeks ago (in the GTA), but they seem to go on sale regularly (for all CTs in Ontrario/Quebec I would think).

Since I started this thread I've see the scope go on sale twice at $79.99.

I agree regarding the tripod being under par. I bought a new one immediately.

I picked one up this week for $79.99, I went to customer service and told them about the trouble I had trying to order it online last week, they knew the website was experiencing difficulties and honoured the sale price. Just got it yesterday, can't wait to try it out.

I tried one a while back and thought it was rubbish. Perhaps Qc is hit or miss but it paled in comparison to my old bushnell 15-45x50 that I bought used for $60 (yes it was the 20-60x80 version)
