So I have a couple of cases of 45 and 7.62. I have a small storage shed behind the house. There is snow on the ground and it will be melting soon. I have never seen moisture on the walls or anything in there. Okay, so the ammo is in a steel container bolted to the wall, locked and in the shed. Will the ammo be corrupted?

I have had good luck storing powder and primers out in the shed but not so good with reloaded ammo.
Normally I get corrosion on the brass but they fire OK.
I don't keep any ammo outside anymore

Sealed - surplus ammo ? Store away in the shed and it will be fine. It has been stored away for 40-odd years in warehouses thus far.

Boxes of Remington/Federal etc - mmm, see if you can move inside.

Is your ammo brass cased or steel? How long do you think it will take you to use it up?

I have old norinco steel case 7.62 x 51 a buddy got in the 80's, some of it is tarnished and rustyish, but it all works as it should.
