If anyone that lived as your ideal nostalgic “outdoor life men”. Were given todays custom big game rifle, modern backpack and warm water resistant clothing. I think you would be surprised how many never pick up there heavy 6moa rifle, packboard and wool poncho again.

Of course they would. They did what they had to with what they had available.

It's not the same money.
For the cost of the magazine you could buy a box of .22 back then. Have you bought .22 shells recently?

How did anyone ever kill game without full scent-blocker camo, a plastic fantastic/ stainless rifle in 6.5 TurboWhiz Magnum while riding around on a $10,000 quad?

Ah the good old days,I think Outdoor Life was the first magazine I read, thanks for the walk down memeroy lane.

Yup...Outdoor Life was the only magazine in our household that I can remember. A much later version than is offered here ( 1950's-60's), came in a brown paper "slider cover" that I wasn't allowed to remove until the old man had his go at the magazine ( and he was gone working for weeks on end usually) so I had to wait....Jack O'Connor articles & the "reloading page" always got first perusal.
