Outer impact red dot adapter?

I’m trying to figure out how to install an RDS on my Canik TO 9 Elite and came across the Outer impact Red Dot Adapter.
Anyone tried this?
Only other option was for milling and if I recall ,I was quoted around $600 to $900 .. lol

Thats a loaded question. Picking a dot is a pretty personal thing. I suggest you talk to people at your local range and see if you can take a look at their dots, and maybe head to your LGS to test a few out.
Quite a few people use holosun's and its newest variants, lots swear by Vortex, I personally have Swampfox Justice II on all my pistols that wear one,
Trijicon is always good if you have deep pockets... more options than a person can count.
 
Was thinking trijicon, maybe something in between fast acquisition and precise shooting.
And small footprint
And not that I have deep pockets, but just don’t want to buy twice
 
The Outer Impact mount is solid and works great. Dot sits a bit too high for my taste so I ended up milling my non optic slides.

For pistols, i find a bigger dot much faster to acquire and since you typically aren’t dealing with long distance, smaller, more precise is less important to still get the bullet where you want it to go.
Holosun 507Comp or 407Comp are both budget friendly and solid, reliable choices for RDS with nice big windows and dot options
Vortex Defender XL has a massive window and you can get a 5 or 8MOA dot
If you prefer the premium RDS, Trijicon SRO is awesome. I love my 5MOA SRO - perfect balance between speed and accuracy

Also, $600plus for milling is highway robbery.

Trijicon SRO. I've got an RMR and an SRO. The SRO dot is much easier to acquire. It's not even close... Maybe the ARCO, but a closed emitter is only an issue if you're using it for some serious business.

The SRO is crazy good. Expensive, no question, but worth every cent. I'm not easily impressed, but wow, it's impressive.
 
So , I just received the outer impact plate and realized it sits on top of the slide ,opposed to being counter sunk like milling would do.
Looks kinda odd. Lol
Is there anywhere I could get a milled slide shipped to Canada?

Open emitter can have dirt, water, lint etc get into the spot that emits the dot. Enclosed emitter ..is what it's name says ...enclosed inside the optic meaning no dirt/water etc can block you seeing the dot.

It's really personal preference. Vortex and Holosun make both styles

I agree, it is. But with like two places that will do it, and then not being able to do any old cut and requiring a full slide recoat it gets expensive fast. To do a shadow 1 it's like $725 all in and adding a plate system. Gotta pay if you want to play that way, because they set the market price in Canadastan

Shadow 1 is tough because of the slide width and depth…pretty hard to mill and mount a modern optic without a plate so I can see where costs on that would start to climb.

Requiring a full slide recoat on a simple optic cut is unnecessary. I know of one well known shop who does this and while I have used them (and the work was fantastic), I was getting frame and slide work and full cerakote - optic cut was a small piece of the job. I would never consider them for just a slide cut.

There are other options and certainly more than 2 places that will do the work. i have had 3 slides (including a Shadow 2) milled by two different shops in the past two years - both do great work - and have not paid more than $250 before tax. Both are within an hour drive of me as well which may be one of the few benefits of living in Southern Ontario.
 
Unfortunately, all the shops I've contacted won't do it so all I have access to is the company we that requires a whole slide refinish, or one place in Ontario that again was way more expensive than I would like (probably because if the difficulty), and I was limited to plate systems that really don't gain me much in reduced height...hence why I knew about the outer impact plates and their quality.

I've found a work around to get a Shadow 1 optics ready slide hopefully. We shall see how it goes

I had my Shadow 1 milled for a delta point pro pattern without a plate. Local machinist milled it,installed 4 pins and cold blued the cut for $250. I originally had an Outer Impact plate on the gun that sheared the screws and had the dot come off. Watched the same thing happen to another shooter at an IPSC match last weekend with an Outer Impact plate.

Absolutely possible, I’ve had 3 slides milled by my buddy who is an aircraft machinist and has done about another half dozen for other friends of ours. Any competent machinist can do this work easily 👍
