I'm looking into transforming cartridges and I find that I may need to do outer neck turning.

I'm green. I have never senn it done. I have no idea what's involved or what's required. Anybody ever tried this?

I've had a few people reference the fact that what every tool s there are for this, some are adjustable. I don't even know what these tools look like or where to get 'em.

Being adventurous and not having the know-how is an awkward, but hopefully temporary trait.

Lyman, Sinclair, Forster, RCBS all make these tools.

If you look at their respective web sites it should help.

It's not brain surgery, but care and time is required.

RePete.

You can also get them from board members (e.g., from me).

Most people don't need to turn necks for most things, but if you do, it isn't that hard. Instructions come with the tools and you can ask someone to show you what's what.

I'm looing into turning .223 cases in to 7.62x25mm cases. One method I looked at (thanks for the link Luckguy), use an outside turner.

The RCBS neck turner both reams and turns the outside at the same time.

It mounts on the RCBS case trimmer and is very easy to use.

Get yourself a Sinclair International catalog. Its got most of the better cool reloading tools and tips in it. They have an online catalog as well but its not as convenient to browse when sitting on the . . . while in the reading room.
