I've been interested in these as well as the Bergara Takedown but haven't even been able to find any to import from stateside let alone any stock in Canada.
Check out that Bergara single shot...pretty sweet!

If anyone knows where to obtain one of these let us know.
 
Those do look really cool. Besides Dominion having the 45/70 versions not seeing any G3s in Canada.

I'll check out the Bergara! Pretty much the CVA rifle?
 
I picked one up a while back from Epps when they were blowing them out for $300, can't recall if it was a G2 or G3, but the trigger is quite light so likely a G3.
I got one in 357Mag as I already load for it, put a little 2.5x Lyman American on it and lined it up at 100m. It's nice and light, no recoil, about as loud as a 22mag so you don't go deaf hunting with it.
It's minute of deer boiler plate at 100m, not going to win any target shooting competitions with them lol but they are fun.
Also made in Spain, probably by the same outfit that make CVA...

Did you spend any time trying to tune a handload Hitzy? Did it show a preference for certain bullet profiles or weights?
 
Bergara takedown are branded as CVA in North America. No 8x57jrs or 308 though

Wish I had known about this 300 dollar blowout

Not much yet, just the 158gr Hornady JHP I shoot in my 686. I want to get a 38spl load set up for it too, will be super quiet, likely use 110gr or 125gr with that.
 
The only problem with a single shot is...that it’s a single shot.

For $300 though that wouldn’t be a bad problem.

I ran a $5k problem for years and it was still in the end...a problem, stupid accurate problem. Loved how it took down and stuffed in pack etc. Niche squared. Blaser k95, during lots of my sheep fever and kananaskis where encased and unloaded was the rule for so many areas, the pack worked as the case. They do fill a great number of niches but not the ultimate hunters choice where follow ups are not only routine but also it’s more enjoyable shooting things as much as you can, especially coyotes. Got the single shot t-shirt, now it’s more like how many times can i shoot it because it’s a long year of anticipation and not nearly enough shooting lol.
 
Got one the same time as Hitzy (Epps blow-out) in 450 Bushmaster. Worked up a load using 300gr XTPs over Lil Gun and 230gr HPs over Trail Boss. Light and narrow, I put a Leupold VX1 3-9 on it and it's nice to carry. Not perfect accuracy, but I manage to get shots into about 1.5 inches at 100m with the 300gr load, Hornady 250gr FTX shoots a bit better/ flatter. The trigger is decent and the recoil pad and brake helps with the heavy stuff. My kids like shooting it with the light loads and as I have one lefty and one regular kid, the ambidextrousness of the rifle is nice.

The biggest gripe I have is that getting rimless cartridges out (extractor only) takes a bit of wiggling. A rimmed cartridge like 357/44/45-70 you would likely be able to tip the gun over and dump it out. Overall, I'm happy with the gun (bagged a moose with it last week) but am replacing it soon with a repeater in 450 BM.
 
Bergara barrels, CVA rifles, and Beltline bullets are all owned by a Spanish holding company. All new CVA rifles have Bergara barrels, as do (obviously) all Bergara rifles. The three worked together to come up with the 40 caliber CVA rifle and appropriate high BC (for muzzleloaders) bullets which in combination and using a 150 grain powder charge, pretty much emulates 3006 ballistics. Currently have a Bergara barreled CVA pro magnum in 50 cal from around 2005 and just killed a good sized buck with it in Virginia. The 40 cal CVA is not inexpensive but I'm looking at it hard.
