Has anyone tackled the barrel regulation problem that seems to exist on alot of Outlaws? My left barrel shoots inline with the bead albeit high. The right one shoots the same height high but substainally to the right. The height isn't a problem and easy to fix however I'm wondering if anybody out there has addressed the left to right regulation problem.

I understand Can-Am has a pretty good return policy. Would it be possible to exchange it and hope another one might be better?

From what I've read the poor regulation is very consistant so an exchange would likely net you a new gun with similair performance. Something in the factory likely needs a tap with a hammer and all will be well, just a question of whether it'll happen or not

It is possible to fix just about any problem with a shotgun. All you need is money. Barrel regulation fixes require removing and modifying the centre rib, testing the gun to determine the right barrel position and resoldering the correct rib when it's done. The price of this work by a gunsmith who knows what he is doing would be many, many times the purchase price of an Outlaw.

A less expensive option would be to have the problem barrel tapped for choke tubes and a custom non-concentric tube made to shift the pattern. Briley in the U.S. can do this work but the Outlaw is both an NFA and a Chinese-made gun so getting it to Houston might be an insurmountable challenge. Steve Milton at Precision Arms in King City could probably make and install a choke tube that would solve this problem whether he would or not is something I can't answer and his work isn't inexpensive.

the simplest solution is probably to wait until the second boatload of Outlaws - which are supposed to come with better barrel regulation (and hopefully forearms that stay on).

i have learned not to buy the first generation of Chinese imports... the second gen of Grizzlies had removable chokes and barrels/receivers that index the same as Remington 870s, so i learned my lesson.

That's good news.

Where did you hear it?
