Over 3 weeks for a short term att?

Transfer and STATT from a local store (STATT was attached), in 1 working day during early December.
 
FWIW, I was just at The Gun Centre, and they are closed until after SHOT. For the OP, that would explain why they haven't responded to your calls for the past few days.

You shouldn't have to do anything. The store starts the transfer process. If they haven't started it, you are going to have to wait until they do.
 
You need to get the transfer number from the store. The last pistol I bought , it took almost 10 business days to get the ATT and only after I called the CFO in Ontarion. Here is the contact info:

the STATT only takes minutes to approve, you have your STATT # before you hang up the phone with the CFO if you ask for it. The pistol needs to have the registration/transfer completed into your name BEFORE the STATT will be issued. The transfer can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks in Ontario, sometimes it only takes a day or two. Your waiting on the transfer, not the STATT.

I think this fella's onto something. The STATT should take no time at all. It's probably the transfer itself that is being held up. And really, would the latter of those two be a big surprise? I'm in B.C. and transfers will take about a minimum 2 weeks, most likely 3.
 
Just did a private seller next day transfer here in B.C.
Transfer started Monday, mailed from Vancouver to van isle yesterday, looks like it will be in my hand later today. They have gotten a lot faster recently. I would say I average 4 days for the transfer process.

Thanks, I called the CFO and they told me no paperwork was sent to them, so it was The Gun Centre that hasn't sent anything in. I'll just have to wait until they get back before I can do anything. ARG!
 
As the OP has said, the cfo doesn't have the paperwork from the gunstore yet. This is 100% the gunstore's fault (for once). The cfo can't process something they don't have.

Get a gun club membership as soon as possible. Good luck getting an ATT without one. Don't sign up as a collector.
