Why would anyone butcher an F/N Browning with choke tubes?

I wouldn't be "butchering" the shotgun, simply ,making it more adaptable for me to shoot both trap and skeet.
It is a working giun, with some rust ptting etc making it undesirabble for a collectable shottgun.
If it was collectable I would be getting rid of it in a hurry, as I like to shoot ALL my firearms...
