Hard to beat a 1911. I have a CZ75 that I really enjoy shooting as well. I had a Steyr GB once, which I also enjoyed shooting; kicked like a 22 and very accurate. In a moment of temporary insanity I sold it. DUMMY.
Glocks are great guns in many respects. But because of the crappy trigger I have no interest in them. Even the ones with excellent triggers (for a Glock) are still crappy. 
A good 1911 feels good to shoot. Not the ideal gun but there is good reason for its popularity.
The CZ75 design is also another winner. I like them better than the Browning Highpowers.
If you include revolvers then it would be a S&W 586/686 or if you want a little less weight then one of the K frames.
If money was no object then things get more difficult. The above can be found for reasonable prices.

The one you feel most comfortable with, get at the fairest price, and have good after purchace support. This is becoming obvious.
If you mean a Production gun?Quality and workmanship wise the Sig 210
is hard to beat. If you mean generaly which pistol to get for range use.
then It comes down to what feels best andwhat you shoot the best.
